We’re off to a good start (despite the weather) in 2011. We have had guests in each of our worship services this month as well as a number of regular attendees. Notice the term “guests”. That’s exactly what they are: guests in the House of God. One of our regular attendees commented, “I’ve been going to another church for years and never had so many people come up to me and introduce themselves!” As co-hosts in the House of God (Jesus Christ is the host), we welcome all our guests and have a great history of treating them as such.

The next event we are sponsoring is an American Red Cross First Aid & CPR class specifically for people working with infants and children. There are a couple of reasons to take this class:

•    If you are around children and something was to happen, you will be better prepared.
•    Guests will be more at ease leaving their children with people who hold American Red Cross certificates for this training.
•    FPCJ may be able to get a reduction in our insurance when the adults working with children hold these certificates.

The class will be February 26th. Contact the church office if you are interested in attending.

At a Leadership Conference several of us recently attended, we saw a presentation in which a church boiled their church’s mission to six words.

    Love God.
    Love People.
    Prove it.

Amen and amen.
